Little Bluestem is a shorter (2-4’) perennial Warm Season Native grass that works well in Native mixes for dense, long term wildlife cover.
Warm season grasses are notoriously slow to establish but are very long lived once they are established.
They don’t require added fertilizer and you should get weeds under control before planting and use timely, high mowing to keep weed competition controlled after planting.
