Big Bluestem is one of the quicker to establish perennial Warm Season Native grasses
Will tolerate a wide variety of soil types
Can be mixed with other warm season grasses like Little Bluestem, Indiangrass and Switchgrass
It can grow to 4-6 ft tall in the Midwest
Warm season grasses are notoriously slow to establish but are very long lived once they are established
Doesn't require added fertilizer
Before planting, get weeds under control. Use timely, high mowing to keep weed competition controlled after planting
